IFSO APC 2027 and the Sustainable Development Goals

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs, also known as the Global Goals) are 17 goals with 169 targets that all UN Member States have agreed to work towards achieving by the year 2030. They set out a vision for a world free from poverty, hunger and disease.

We at IFSO APC 2027 want to do our part to promote the achievement of these goals in our own value chain. The SDGs that we support and work towards are:

Supporting a more sustainable event destination

By hosting our conference at the National University of Singapore, we support a venue committed to sustainable campus operations and encourage delegates to make environmentally conscious choices throughout their stay.

What we are doing in 2027:

  • Encouraging the use of Singapore’s efficient public transportation.
  • Promoting walking between nearby venues where possible.
  • Supporting local suppliers and businesses
  • Choosing an accessible venue with strong sustainability practices
Reducing our environmental footprint

We strive to minimise waste and encourage responsible resource use throughout the conference by adopting more sustainable event practices.

What we are doing in 2027:

  • Digital programme and event communications
  • Reduced printing and paper use
  • Recycling stations available throughout the venue
  • Refillable water stations to reduce single-use plastics
  • Sustainable catering practices, including efforts to minimise food waste
  • Working with suppliers that prioritise sustainable products and services
Building partnerships that create lasting impact
Collaboration is at the heart of our conference. We bring together academia, healthcare professionals, industry partners, policymakers, and researchers from around the world to exchange ideas, build partnerships, and develop solutions to shared challenges.
